Way back in the mid-twentieth Century (1946), Soichiro Honda established a namesake research institute in Japan for the purpose of developing and cranking out little, 2-stroke motorbike engines. Only two years later, the Honda Motor Company, was established.

Fast forward to 1959 to when Honda opened a sales shop in Los Angeles and within several years, they changed the history of motorcycling. They made ‘em better, faster and less expensive than anything else on two wheels.

The ultimate result was a shift in the balance of power of motorcycle production from Europe to Asia as more Japanese motorcycle manufacturers joined the party of making and selling motorcycles to America.

Honda has since firmly established itself as one of the top motorcycle manufactures in the world, and their reputation for quality products is globally renown. (By the way, along their journey to motorbike stardom they also started making these contraptions with 4 wheels and called ‘em cars. They’ve done well with them, too).
