The Passion of Motorcycle Choppers
ULTIMATE MOTORBIKE CUSTOMIZATION
1) Love motorcycles?
2) Love choppers?
3) Love to ride?
Well if you are only going to own “one” motorcycle, it’ll be tough to satisfy all three of the above passions.
To state the obvious, choppers are highly and uniquely customized motorcycles, most often based on a cruiser frame with longer front forks. These motorbikes are usually “chopped” of various accessories and non-essential parts. Choppers are often the work of builders and/or customizers who are truly passionate about motorcycles and choppers. And the end result of their work is more often a show piece rather than a practical riding machine. Some choppers could even be considered as mechanical art or motorized jewelry.
What choppers are “not” good at is canyon carving through lots of twists and turns; long-distance riding; adventure touring; or spirited riding that demands very nimble handling characteristics.
You can love motorcycles and love choppers. And you can definitely love motorcycles and love riding them. But if you are a rider who truly enjoys cranking out the miles, then unless you are going to own at least two motorbikes (nothin’ wrong with that), then you would need to be an exceptionally hardy soul to own a chopper to satiate all three passions.
On the other hand, regardless of riding pleasure, owning a uniquely customized chopper that reflects your personal vision of motorcycle aesthetics may be all the passion you need.
